We are delighted to announce that Choueh Law Firm has been officially accredited by the United Nations OHCHR to participate in a training session, organized in collaboration with the National Committee for Human Rights, aimed at monitoring human rights violations in detention centers across Lebanon.
The training took place at Movenpick Hotel in Beirut on the 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th of July 2023.
In a significant development for Choueh Law Firm, Attorney Charbel Choueh had the privilege of representing the firm in the specialized training program initiated by the United Nations.
The training was designed to equip legal professionals with the necessary tools and knowledge to effectively monitor and document human rights violations occurring within detention facilities.
Lebanon has been facing pressing concerns regarding the treatment of detainees, and the United Nations has taken an active role in addressing this matter.
By accrediting Shouah Law Office, the UN has entrusted us with the responsibility of actively participating in the endeavor to protect and uphold human rights.
Throughout the four-day training session, participants, including Attorney Charbel Choueh, delved into various aspects related to human rights and detention centers. The focus was on understanding the international standards of human rights, recognizing potential violations, and implementing effective strategies for documenting and reporting abuses.
The collaboration with the National Committee for Human Rights further enhanced the practicality of the training, as local expertise and insights played a crucial role in addressing Lebanon’s unique challenges concerning human rights.
Choueh Law Firm views this accreditation as a testament to our commitment to justice, equality, and human rights.
Our team remains dedicated to upholding the principles set forth by the United Nations and ensuring that the rights of detainees in Lebanon are protected.
